I was a fan of Healthcare reform but not what evolved it is a simple give away to insurance companies. The only thing that it was going to do was make everybody buy insurance which would supposedly drive down costs because providers would be assured of payment from everybody. Now we have these states opting out and hurting the people that need healthcare the most. Companies like Blue Cross and Blue Shield that are basically state plans and the Federal Employees will not be able to pass costs of the uninsured to other states because they operate in one state. However, what about the Aetna's of the world I don't know if they operate individual state plans or if it is one big nationwide plan.
If Aetna is one big national plan and they pass costs on to everybody they cover then they will be at a huge competitive disadvantage against state by state plans like Blue Cross. Healthcare needs to be reformed but that will only happen when the GOP decides to put their country before politics. The GOP needs to get over Clinton and Obama.
