it shouldn't be surprising that they're self-destructing. it's been a slow-motion trainwreck for years now.

i only hope that a real party emerges from this. one that's willing to work with democrats and compromise instead of holding to the all or nothing doctrine they've been maintaining.

Because of the gerrymandering, the House will be continuously held by tea party nihlists, who will do everything they can to obstruct all things that aren't passed down from the Koch Bros. or Jesus Camp. They'll threaten moderates in the House with being "primaried" if they don't follow the warped agenda. And they have the entire right wing media behind them to assist in enforcing the cray cray.

If the GOP were going to reboot it would have been after Romney lost. Instead they doubled down. I hate to be cynical, but get used to this for a while.
