My 2 cents:
I'm a big fan of instilling critical thinking in the youngsters, so I'm reluctant to "ban" anything. If there are good critiques to Darwinian Evolution those should be brought up. (we should shy away from clinging to any orthodoxy too rigidly)
That said I think this is largely a non-issue, you're not going to reach the nuts and bolts of evolution until your higher level HS science classes; Chem, Advanced Bio...so I think it's not like either side is going to brainwash the little ones unless they are actively trying to do so.
BUT...he's right, we need to be teaching the mechanics of evolution to our advanced HS students, no question.
