The ruling said that a college may not score all applicants equally, and then add more points to one person because of race.
What's more important in our universities? Having the best and brightest, or having diversity?
That's a serious question. But, they aren't mutually exclusive. As someone said, if you want minorities to have equal access in college, then don't arbitrarily give them more points when they apply, in a effort to boost sub-standard grades, admissions test scores, or other criteria. The solution is to ensure that they get the same educational opportunities as majorities, and can therefore score similarly on those admissions criteria.
