The one child policy was a response to Mao's "7+ children for glorious China" policy. Nobody likes it, not the CCP, not the people enforcing them, not the people who were forced to abort.
Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.

They'll relax it soon, it was already relaxed slightly in December. They're fast realising it's going to be a demographic crisis in the future with not enough young people to support a huge older population.
