We're getting slightly off-topic here. It seems like a pyramid of cause:
-We create more and more poor people every day
-Poor people commit more crimes
-Which we're inundated with on TV nightly
-Which causes people to clamor for more police
-Which causes too much policing/overly aggressive police
-And we end up with Fergusons
The point being, shouldn't we really be focused on a war on poverty? That would seem to solve a lot of problems. It would seem to also have a much more proactive result on the American black community than simply ramping up police armaments or everybody going out and buying guns.
Our media spends so much time on violence in this country, and not the financial violence being done us by the 1%.
