America-hater, white-hater, Hitler, commie, socialist, Kenyan, terrorist-lover... I stopped counting after the first year.

But as I have always said: you should always be worried when one side will only talk about supposedly the evil the other side is up to, without ever talking about what their plans are.

Because they don't have any. Except winning.

It's like Iraq: the only planning there was to "win." And once they won ("Mission Accomplished"), well, that WAS the extent of the plan. We all know what happened after.

That said, the Democrats aren't exactly inspirational. Their ideology at this point seems to stop at "Well, we're not them!"

What's with all the gnashing of the teeth. We haven't like the President in office as whole in this country since 1986.

If anything, American politics has become more civilized and more cooperative than it was before. What we call corruption was fully socially acceptable behavior as little as thirty years ago. I mean it wasn't uncommon for rival politicians to cheat, scam, pad pockets, intimidate voters, physically attack one another, etc.

Nowadays the government is more transparent, and the cronyism has actually decreased, even though our awareness of it has skyrocketed.

Yeah, but this thread is just about THIS president and this presidency though.

You are correct, at the local and state level corruption in politics has decreased. Even though some of that is simply due to the fact that's there much more money in politics now, the politicians are getting rich without corruption..Kind of like why athletes seldom take payoffs and throw games anymore.. They don't have to, they're already making millions.

But anyway there's no way these past 5 years at the national level it's become more cooperative than the past 30.. Not even close.
