Does the OP not realize that there are countries outside the US ? Single payer works just fine in many countries around the world, it's the current American system that does not work.

The UK isn't really single payer in the same kind of sense that Canada is.

The U.S. healthcare system is one of the worst in the world. We have the most expensive healthcare system per capita, and although the quality of care given is generally very good, we fail to provide enough care to everyone and the care that is provided is extremely expensive.
The biggest issue in the U.S. system are costs, the best way to lower costs are to increase the number of residency spots and create some intermediate levels between nurse and highly specialized endocrinologist. I don't need someone with a 500k education and 6 years of schooling removing a mole from my arm.

The "buy it or get fined" HC is nothing but extortion. Even though the SCOTUS agrees, its still extortion. End of story.
The hardest part of doing nothing is knowing when your done.
