Boehner represents one part of the GOP that is only mildly obstructionist and prone to inaction. The other part is entirely insane and powerful beyond their numbers because of the sway they hold with the GOP base.

Boehner suggesting that the GOP act like adults does not absolve the GOP of their well deserved reputation as obstructionist do-nothings..

I am pleasantly surprised by this move by Boehner, but he is not exactly doing this is a gesture of good will. He is doing it because the GOP wants to wait until after the end of the current congressional session, so that they can control the Senate, and thus do whatever they want without input from the Democrats.

The reason I like it, is that if this goes through, it will be much harder for Republicans to repeal Obamacare, because by early next year far more people will have signed up for health care coverage. Also, this is going to be a disaster for GOP presidential candidates, because it moves the immigration fight close to the 2016 primaries, thus forcing candidates to alienate latino voters just before the election.
