The thing that gets me when I see shit like this is: do cops not even get basic self-defense training? Or do they just forget?

A chokehold in jiu jitsu is probably one of the first things you're taught and the beauty of them is that you can use them to get somebody to submit or simply put them to sleep. You'd have to hold that thing for a long time to actually kill somebody.

But I'm constantly seeing cops who are suffocating people are crushing their larynx and all sorts of unnecessary injury because the cop in question is just using brute force with dangerously unskilled technique.

Anyway, yes, this one was on video--too bad the Brown shooting wasn't, because it would have saved us months of bullshit.
