The rich have most of the money, and collecting more. The poor have less and even have less then now in the future. We celebrate gluttony and greed. We like to say we don't, but we do.

That is the sentiment of more than one person here--the solution to them is not fixing the disparity, it's "Well I'll just be rich then."

The American Dream used to be about creating your own small business, working hard at your job that moved you up successfully or something along those lines. Today, small business ownership is at an all time low, big corporate stores sit on every corner of the country that pay lower wages to their employees.

Our education system is beyond crap. Our society is overall less intelligent due to a lack of care for basic education. Our poor are getting poorer, our rich are getting richer. Our rich during higher taxes still made plenty of money to continue building their wealth empires and the poor are stuck in a circular cycle. Even if we took all of the money from the wealthy and gave it to the lowest incomes I dont think we would see a social change or upwards mobility. Due to a lack of education and alot of really dumb people there is no American dream that can happen for a big portion of our population.

Maybe we could do something like take away the blank check for wars/defense and spend that much more on education.

Declare a "war on ignorance" or whatever you want to call it.

It's embarrassing that our schools are in such sad shape but man, when an opportunity comes to engage somewhere militarily, that credit card has no limit and no questions are asked.

You could probably have redone our entire school system with just what we spent on Iraq.
