yesterday i saw a bald eagle feasting upon a canada goose. i felt so patriotic.
other nation states like canada and austrialia and new zealand that came from colonies do ascribe to many of the things that make america different from europe, but i do think the american experience is unique. we were midwived by war which had us chose our own destiny, and that destiny was manifest. because of the oceans, we have been able to enjoy very different relations with other countries than the european savages have, resulting in a very different view on what the purposes of government should be and whatnot. one reason why the us is qualitatively better than austrilia is that they still, like those to the north of us, rim the queen's asshole.
