I don't see what apologizing has to do with anything.
How about acknowledgment of problems of the past, present, and possible future repercussions.

Sure. Let's apologize. The whole "never apologize for America" premise makes no sense to me. You make a faux pas, you give a mea culpa. But now for some reason if you follow this basic standard of decent behavior, you're throwing America and everything we stand for under the bus, clubbing a bald eagle to death and pissing on the declaration of independence apparently.
