So far, I haven't heard one single person who is opposed to this to be saying anything other than "rah rah, Castro brothers, rah rah". No one is talking about how this might make things worse for the people in Cuba. That's because I can't imagine a scenario where it will make things worse for Cubans. The US can now bring agriculture and business jobs there.
Furthermore, I think that we ALL recognize the importance of the internet to a repressed people. It allowed the Arab Spring to happen, for christsake! And, now Cubans will have more access than ever. How is that going to help the Castro administration? It won't. It will severely destabilize it.
If we follow the mantra of "all politics is local", meaning that we should analyze all politics on how they affect us in our personal lives, this is a bigger deal than PPACA or any other single action that Obama has taken, for me at least. And, I'm chalking it up in the "good" column for Obama.
