According to http://www.crimelibrary.com/criminal_mi ... ing/2.html, less than 100 kids are "kidnapped" each year. I put quotes, because that 100 represents just the normal type of kidnapping we think of - stranger, white van, no windows, candy, chloroform, etc. That's out of 800,000 reported missing kids (400k = runaways, 200k = family custody issues, 150k = "other").
