i can't find the study because i forget exactly which country it was for, but ithink it was in sweden. you can all take this with a grain of salt because i can't find the actual study and it was from a few years ago but it found that typically people find a job within 2 months of unemployment kicking in and stopping, but the 2 years or so in between nobody gets a job. but i also can't recall what it said about your other question (dropping into welfare instead of unemployment, which are pretty much the same thing anyway once it's at 2 years)
