you do you know that iraqi kurds are bearing the brunt of ISIS, right? it's not like the entire PKK has just up and joined to fight them like they would in an independence struggle with turkey. and there are almost 20 million kurds in turkey. what you're describing would be hard to do against a population a quarter that size. it took the US almost five years to break the iraqi insurgency and their numbers are much smaller and a much smaller percentage of the population was helping them. now i don't know about you, but i think we're better than turkey. combine that with a civil war or some other kind of internal struggle, which is the context i brought this scenario up in, and the turks aren't just going to deport or kill 20 million people outright. it would be an incredibly messy fight that given the right circumstances, the turks could easily find themselves struggling to overcome.
