The question was "should kids be taught gun safety", not "should you have guns in your house".
Yes, kids should be taught gun safety as early as they can grasp the concept of "don't do this", which is around age 3 or perhaps earlier. I have no guns in my house (that story is in another thread), but I teach my kids about safety. They won't encounter a gun at my house. But, what about when they go for a sleepover?
I've shown my kids guns, and how if you pull the trigger, things go boom (haven't shot one in front of them, they're deathly afraid of loud noises and explosions - showed them videos). I told them to never touch any part of a gun. If they saw one, to stay away from it and yell for a parent/adult. I also told them that if they were with friends, they should tell their friends not to touch it, but if someone did, that they should run from the room as fast as possible and get an adult.
