I'm undecided if seeing brutality is the proper starting point for making up your mind. Sure, showing ISIS burning someone to death is going to make people mad and maybe want to do something about it. But it doesn't inform their decision. It doesn't reveal any insights into what the appropriate response is. I think you could reasonably argue that spending that time talking about context and potential responses is more beneficial to the viewer than seeing a person killed.
