Definitely should not be a crime. It may be in poor taste but having an opinion, no matter how unpopular, should not be a crime ever.

Yeah, I think when it comes to the OP there's a chance, given his repeated history of suicide claims, she may have developed the attitude that he was doing so for attention and not out of any sort of real threat to his own life. Dealing with mental illness, and those who suffer from it, can be a lot for someone on the outside looking in.
