The real shame falls on the Judge here. He should have pushed this to trial a-ways back.

I'm of the opinion that nobody should be compelled to testify against immediate family members anyways. I know that I'd never cooperate in building a case against my sisters or parents, and I think that is perfectly reasonable and acceptable, given how highly we tend to value freedom of conscience.
