Yea that was a joke. Seriously, I have no idea what to do about the problem. In a democracy it's nearly impossible to combat such a large, wealthy and financially interested group. People talk about class warfare in politics but IMO this is really where the class warfare bit is not hyperbolic. If you, or your family, owns property, you have a huge interest in keeping these laws from changing. Property prices would plummet if the laws were changed and that cost is going to fall on someone. I doubt it will change politically. I just think it's a completly intractable solution because way to many people have too much of an interest in these policies to change them. Hell, I know if I ever inherited my parents home, or bought property in NYC or wherever, I would do everything possible to keep these policies from changing. Sucks to be like that but if you aren't f**k someone then you are the guy getting f**k ITE.
In the long run I'm hoping the google driverless car will destroy these entrenched interests just like the Model T and Railroads destroyed the old landed classes monopoly on property. Keep your f**k brownstone in f**k harlem, no one will pay 2 million for that piece of shit when I can get a mansion in Pennsylvania and be chaffered to work everyday in a 30k prius. Naturally though boomer regulators will keep this technology from us until they manage to unload all their overpriced property on the next generation.
DON'T BE A TOUGH GUY. DON'T BE A FOOL! I WILL CALL YOU LATER.
