HFT is not market perfection, it is the exploitation of a problem with the constructs we've built around the actual market. It would be like saying that fees represent perfection in banking. Both are unintended ways of generating massive profits that have absolutely no benefit to the greater society.

I don't really see anything wrong with it, to be honest. Well, to be clear, I don't see anything more wrong with it than any other weird financial instrument.
