I think Ex nailed it.
The main focus going forward is going to be the social side of things, where Reps and Dems actually have disagreements. The fiscal side will most likely stay as is...

Yes, the main focus will be the social "issues," but merely to mask the GOP's full-on race into plutocracy and oligarchy, whereas the Dems certainly are complicit in a lot of that they don't accelerate it by slashing social programs and lavishing tax treats and breaks on the 10% that bankrupt us even more quickly.
So yeah: the lesser of two evils--that's what we've become here. That should alarm people.
