This proposed scheme just forces the dumb to pay for the smart. Seems like a scam to me. Why should people who will make less for their entire lives pay for people who will make more, to have the education to do it?

I might go for it if people don't get to choose their college, but are randomly assigned one. I was fiscally responsible and went to a moderately priced in-state school. I'm not going to pay for you to go slack off at Harvard and get to be president because you played grab-ass with the right secret play-group.

The whole idea of being fiscally responsible and going to a cheap school is exactly part of the problem. A student should go to whichever school that student feels they would do best at, the cost should be IRRELEVANT because the sate should be paying, just like it does K-12. It's ridiculous you have people who literally cannot afford to work in the communities they came from because of some of these loans. It's ridiculous that talented students should have their schooling decided based on where they parents can afford to send them, rather than there they would excel the most.

The development and continued success of a participatory form of government relies on an educated populace. It's not a right, it's homeland security. Profit taking on education, regardless of the method, is criminal.
