I hope they've been issuing apologies for the far larger scale crimes they committed during that war. In terms of civilian death its actually more significant than the Holocaust by many counts. Happened in Asia, though, so nobody gives two shits.

It's not that nobody cares its that the US swept it under the rug to make Japan a puppet state to counter Soviet influence in Asia.

No, its widely known, and has been for decades. No matter how hard anyone tries, there aren't rugs large enough for something like that. You're talking about the attempt to paper over unit 731, for example?

the jewish lobby wasn't even a thing immediately after the war. we didn't even like jews then, and we didn't even like israel until the 70s. holocaust worship was already present then.
