Whether a fatal childhood disease is or is not genetic in nature is of no relevance to the point articulated by Saz.
Sex can be used for both pleasure and procreation. They're not mutually exclusive and depends upon the use to which sex is engaged in. Context. To even say that sex "should" be used for anything is to already imbue into your statement a dose of dictatorial, authoritarian command outside of free, enlightened human relations and behavior.
Science already does provide the requisite information to allow for informed decisions to be made and will make this all the more so as time and research comes along.
