Sorry - it seems that I've made a grievous mistake. After reading through a few of the other threads around here, I've come to the conclusion that Indy is not a partisan hack. Seems that he there is another current thread where he's questioning Obama.

I'm right about the rest of it, though. When the total US GDP is around $15 trillion, and the US Federal government budget is just shy of $4 trillion, the the Federal government is a major factor in EVERYTHING that goes on.

I'm not a fan of them. I disenrolled because I don't like their social policies. But, to be frank, those things really aren't a big deal for me. I don't much care if gays are allowed to marry, or if abortion is legal. Those are not in my top 10 things, at least.

I disagree much more with Dems on things that really matter to me - like the size of government, Federal interference into state's rights, etc.

But in my opinion, the Republicans feel the same way about state rights and the size of government as the democrats. The only difference is the specifics in which they disagree. And maybe that's why it's so much worse...blatent liars.

But, Medicare Part D was still smaller than Obamacare. Not that I agreed with Part D, either...

Philosophically, I'm not a huge fan of the current Republicans, either. The funny part is that the vast majority of my paycheck comes straight from Uncle Sam, in the form of disaster relief money and other Federal dollars. We do a lot of Federal work, and a lot of state/local work.

So, while I may have some philosophical ideals - it doesn't stop me from cashing that check!
