Wait, a balanced budget is stupid?

I don't think it should be used to justify hurting people, and I'm fine with my government accumulating debt if it means keeping people alive and maintaining a good standard of living... but what exactly is inherently wrong with a balanced budget? It seems perfectly reasonable to aim for this.

BTW in case anybody hadn't noticed, you can add this to the list of people that the GOP has completely alienated:

-Blacks
-Hispanics
-Gays
-Women
-Pro-choice women

-Muslims, and now
-Federal Employees

I saw a couple of polls this morning.. Seems like about 70% of people are blaming the GOP for this mess. Many aren't in love with Obamacare, but most say the GOP tactic of shutting everything down to try and get their own way is wrong. So this might end soon.. Politicians of today govern by polls.

Of course I also heard that many on Fox aren't blaming the GOP's tactics for the bad poll numbers, but are blaming the 'main stream media'...LOL I'm sure many Republicans will hang their hat on that excuse.

The GOP will always blame the mainstream media. Because that feeds into their victim narrative--the media is out to get them because it's "liberal."

Speaking of which, how about that media? Throughout all of this, they've simply sat back and reported he said/she said without doing even the slightest inquiry into who's really at fault here.

THAT is the root of the problem in this country. They're just spectators/commentators at this point--no longer journalists.
