OK, so the topic has strayed a bit into NSA spying on US citizens.
Let's go back to the OP. Should the NSA spy on foreign people? The head of the NSA defended this practice pretty rigorously yesterday. And, I tend to agree with the talking points that I heard. First, that other countries are most certainly spying on us, so we need to spy on them. That, just because a country is an "ally", doesn't mean that they always have the best interest of the US in mind.
