Why would Russia fill that void? Israel and Russia have huge historical animosity, and Russia probably prefers to be homies with Iran, Syria, Jordan, etc. There is no way Russia would be stupid enough to ally with Israel. It gains them nothing, and Israel already has a decent armament industry, which they wouldn't sacrifice to buy shitty Russian wares.

Look, it's really simple. The US ending military aid to Israel will not cause Israel to buy vastly inferior military equipment from a nation state increasingly opposed to the largest and most powerful state on the planet. It will not get into bed with a country that also supports Iran and Syria.

I mean it would make no sense at all for them to do that. None at all. Just because you would no longer be giving them the shit doesn't mean they couldn't buy it. And even if they couldn't buy it, they wouldn't go to Russia, they'd double down on their own armamemt industry.

As for these closer ties, we are talking about deals that amount to a couple hundred million, and that is mostly Russia buying Israeli equipment.

That Israel sells Russia some drones and signs an agreement to work with their military doesn't equal shit. The US has similar agreements with Russia. So does Canada. So does China. I guess that means Canada and China are besties and will ally themselves with Russia if the US doesn't give them what they want.

Let's be perfectly clear. A suitor - your words - is not a puny agreement between two countries that are strategically opposed to one another. Russia can't give Israel billions every year. They can't even give them good equipment. Further, your own links show that Israel is one of the biggest arms dealers in the world - why the f**k would they undermine their own industry in order to buy inferior Russian weapons?

It is so hilarious to see an American acting as if Israel has the better hand. If you were to wave your aid in their face, you can be absolutely certain they'd start actually listening to the US re: settlements. Thing is, the US government doesn't really want them to listen. Which is why the American idea of putting pressure on Israel is to say mean things in the press.

They don't want Russian equipment, because it is inferior (at least the stuff they are willing to sell to others) to American AND Israeli equipment. They don't want Russia to be their #1 ally because Russia's soft power is dwarved by the US. It would be literally insane for Israel to do anything but bend over and take that hard American dick.
