The internet isn't secure, really. The US Navy could isolate entire continents simply by destroying the cables that link it into the global WWW. Within the continent, power is easily disabled, and hackers could do a substantial amount of damage to various prime networks that support regional internet.

That said, the internet is here to stay. It'll never stay down for long, IMO.

Not the internet itself, that really is a method of communication for lack of better word, but these servers themselves are vulnerable. And I think they always will be. Indy is right in that respect. I always say, it isn't a matter of if, but when. Everything is hackable, even if you never use a credit card and refuse to pay your bills online. If you have a mortgage, a bank account, a social security number and visit doctors, yep. Just a matter of when.

All the tech stuff is ok, but I wouldn't put up the paper and pencils just yet. Although in a few years, many may not know how to operate a pencil.
