a) Who said they would end up being contrary to their interests? Simply... talking?
b) Unless, they're truly yes, a lobby for gun owners and ESPECIALLY the industry, where talking would sort of deflate the monstrous bogeyman they've spent years building up, upon which they're dependent for $$$. And not even willing to talk means the status quo goes unchanged, which means endless profits for the arms industry?
Bonus question: why would a fascist president who's conspiring to take everybody's guns invite the NRA to the table?
You think Kim Jong Un invites opposition groups to his pad for a beer summit?
