The left when attempting to cloud the issue, like to proclaim that poor people do indeed pay taxes. Specifically, nearly half of the wage earners in the USA do not pay federal income tax. Many actually pay less than zero. It isn't a fact that the left wants to recognize or admit but it is true. What really irks me is when the left wants to tell me that I need to pay my "fair share," yet has no problem with a large number paying zero percent or less. Where is their "fair share?" Even if they were paying as little as 1%, it would be some skin in the game.
Now, along comes President Obama with a few more wealth redistribution policy proposals. Free college? Will that really help anyone? It certainly won't help the poor. The people it will really screw are those that only have a high school education and get laid off in a few years. They'll find that they are competing with all those "college educated" individuals who took basket weaving. Then you have his additional $500 tax credit idea for households with two wage earners. That's a good one. What does that say to that single mother who is busting her hump? Screw you, we're rewarding someone who has two incomes paying the bills!
Of course, the best policies that you can support are those you know will never pass.
