iirc, obama had the majority in the house and the Senate, and they did zip.
so the constant refrain that the nra controls the country is sounding very fatigued.
the nra only has around 5 million members.
how does that compare to your claims of large swathes of the population?

So you're admitting that you can lower rates of gun violence by controlling guns? That's a good first step.
You're correct that there are other means of violence. Alas, they are all universally less effective than firearms. For example, a grown man went apeshit with a knife at an elementary school in China. Zero fatalities A 105 pound kid went apeshit at an elementary school in connecticut. Dozens of kids dead.
And there are the other benefits of removing the accidental shootings and making suicide attempts less effective. All in all, banning guns just make sense.
