Apparently some of the protesters killed by sniper fire were killed by snipers hired by the Ukraine's opposition movement to help bolster support for their movement. This is a common strategy typically used by LEO under which where they infiltrate protest movements and then instigate the police to allow for police crackdown and disruption of the entire event. This time the roles have been switched.

If Europe won't lift a figure in Syria after years of war and at a 150,000 deep body count...why would they give a damn about Ukraine?
The interesting thing is going to be what gets not said and not done if additional bits and pieces of Eastern Ukraine start getting whittled off.
Russia has successfully carved off a chunk of another country with nothing but arm waving and less than polite words to deal with. Not even a shadow of a verbal threat. Its quite a coup, really.
