The hubris from both the sides is a real drag. In my opinion a disclaimer could very well be applied to every subject being taught. An understanding of infinite regress argument can be helpful in checking one's hubris, since it has been known for centuries that there is no foundation for any supposed fact that is not perched precariously atop an infinite chain of assumptions. It's also important to keep in mind that even the most learned people in the world are only able to access a tiny fraction of all there is to know. Remember that next time someone presents themselves to you as an expert, there to present the facts. It's a just confidence game. There are further problems such as what Kant pointed out, namely that one cannot know a thing-in-itself, only an internal facsimile of the thing that is subject to limited and flawed senses, internal biases, etc. So, whether you believe yourself to be a creationist or a darwinist or whatever...do the world a favor and admit to yourself that it is possible, I dare say even likely, that you've got it all wrong.
