i'm not overestimating the US. i'm just saying that there are, at least, a divisions worth of soldiers solely from the US in seoul. this is, of course, disregarding the fact that there is an entire south korean army, the third army, stationed in and around seoul and the western DMZ. not counting their airforce, which will scramble just as quickly as the USAF.

but okay, if you think north korea can scooby doo 50,000 soldiers, trucks, tanks, etc past all of this without anyone noticing.

Yeah the Wikipedia information is misleading you. Yongsan is the HQ of the 8th Army. It's not even close to large enough to hold 20,000 soldiers, or infantry. They are instead stationed at other locations, like CRC. They are also moving 8th Army HQ down to Humphreys.

And again, not tanks. But trucks and shit? Yeah I definitely think they could do it.

And the US troops primary mission is evacuation of US personnel, not defense of Seoul.

and okay, trucks. so they have to take the roads. how is no one going to see them coming from the DMZ? this is all assuming we didn't watch them assemble 50,000 soldiers in a suicide brigade and march them south.

and if they suddenly find themselves in this post-apocalyptic hellhole formerly known as seoul you keep describing their mission is going to be "kill or be killed" really quick,

The NK might be able to cause substantial damage with artillery fire, and they might be able to prepare this without making it immediately obvious. Might. But with soldiers in trucks materializing out of nowhere to raze Seoul? lol

okay. we don't actually have infantry in korea. or garrisons. or anything. are you happy now, eric. that i've conceded to your ultimate knowledge of US military formations in korea despite all contrary evidence?

you're aware korea is all mountains right? and the DMZ is just some hellhole of mountains ,rivers, lakes, and minefields. explain to me how they're going to truck 50,000 soldiers across that terrain, quickly, and remain hidden. and, again, how is no one going to see this happening? the DMZ is the most heavily guarded and militarized border in the world. i can only imagine even more-so in the areas near seoul.

and, again, the chances of them pulling this off without being found out BEFORE they even leave north korea is so ungodly slim it's not even worth discussing.

Why do you have to be hyperbolic?

Seoul isn't guarded. Think about it this way. Let's say you're driving into D.C.. Do you see tanks and military trucks and SAM sites?

No.

Well, Seoul is the same way.

And I didn't say nobody would see them coming, I just don't think the US and SK would be able to react in time.

it's not guarded except for a third of the korean army being stationed there, and being on the most heavily guarded border in the world.
