Sterling got what he deserved, but 20 years too late and after a possible invasion of his privacy. He's 80 with severe memory loss issues, do you think he is viable to give consent to his whore to record him? Plenty of worse things Sterling has done the last 2 decades to get rid of him. I have no prob with the NBA's decision, it was how that info was obtained. If 2 rednecks want to talk in private at home about how much they hate non-whites, etc. they are bothering about as many people as gay couples do when they get married. F*cking none.

I'd say that "liberals" are worse about the whole PC thing... But conservatives have a pretty bad censor streak too. Flag burning, censoring books at school, refusing to teach actual science, forbidding teachers from stating their beliefs about a variety of topics... All of this is, in a sense, political correctness. How about what happened to the Dixie Chicks? How about when people get fired or denied promotions for being gay or lesbian?

In any case, the arguments I've seem here about why this is going too far, and against PC in general, are pretty juvenile and lame. You guys are going to have to come to terms that beliefs and speech matter, more so than ever. I don't believe the government should be censoring people, and hate speech is a scary concept, but as far as the private market goes? Deal with it. This is a league with mostly black players, whose fan base has many black fans, etc. It would be completely inappropriate to not take these steps.

Clear cut difference from being anti gay marriage and using that belief to prevent a qualified person from getting a promotion because they are gay. Words and opinions are different then actions.
