BTW, Shameman, what qualifications do you have to discuss this matter? What evidence do you have to support your assertion that more revenue dollars reach providers in Medicare than in HI?
Are you aware that almost every state in the union has some type of privatized Medicaid program, where private insurance companies administer the program, resulting in reduced costs for the program and increased quality of care for the patient? If government-managed care is so much better, then how come the evidence in almost every state points to the opposite conclusion?
Here are some cold, hard facts for you. The following states paved the way for Medicaid managed care. Listed are the monetary savings that they have realized:
• North Carolina, 2003 to 2007 – 6 percent to 11 percent
• Arizona, 1983 to 1993 – 7 percent
• Michigan, 2001 to 2004 – 9 percent to 19 percent
• Kentucky, 1999 to 2003 – 3 percent to 10 percent
• South Carolina, 2009 – 8 percent
