Yeah, the one time that I had to speed up to miss the obstacle, I was hoping to make a scene. I had circled back around after getting the ticket. I pulled off the road to take a picture of the obstacle (it was a road hazard sign!). Not only did I get a picture of the sign in the middle of the road . . . I got a picture of the cop moving it to the shoulder!
I cam armed with those pics, satellite photos showing where it was and where I got the ticket, acceleration equations showing how it was entirely possible that I was traveling below the speed limit and only accelerated above it when I saw the obstacle, etc. In a meeting with the judge and prosecutor, the judge saw everything, turned to the prosecutor, and said, "Do you really want to get beat by some kid when this thing goes to trial, or do you want to dismiss now?" Charges dismissed.
I knew better than to argue, but I wanted to go to trial!
