I'm not much of a boxing aficionado but I watched that fight and I saw that they had two distinct styles and that Mayweather's style and execution prevailed. I thought it was a good match, and if you are watching it for the sport rather than just looking for a crude slugfest, it was really good. But the reaction is so typical to how consumers want sports to be these days. Baseball is in decline because ever since they cracked down on steroids there aren't as many home runs; the NFL continually tweaks the rules to favor receivers over d-backs cause people want to see high scoring games; etc.
I'm in the minority but I love a 1-0 baseball game off a manufactured run and think the most interesting part of football is the o-line vs the front 7 when you can see the blockers and edge rushers gutting it out over the ground attack.
