Clearly there appears to be different mentality concerning this issue Boris. Personally, the idea of forceably taking blood, even if it's just a pin prick, bothers me.

I'm not going to get hyperbolic about freedom, guns from cold dead hands, etc, but it does feel like a violation to one's person in my opinion, no matter inconsequential it might appear to you.

Americans just have a different outlook on something like this I suppose. Not trying to wave a flag in your face or anything, it's just the way we was raised....

To reiterate what NAB is saying, I'm not equating this with tyranny or being stripped of all wordly possessions. It's not comparable. I know that would fit nicely with your narrative of Americans but its simply not the case here, so you should holster the Strawman and take my position for what it is.

And maybe grow up a little, be a bit more open-minded, and recognize that other countries have different legal cultures which inform our perceptions.

Again, I don't see the issue with field sobriety tests and if you get probable cause based on that giving the person an option between a blood test or revocation of their license, a la alcohol DUI treatment. That seems to address the issue.

And the blood should be withdrawn by a nurse at a hospital not a cop.
