Geoengineering strikes me as awfully shortsighted, and I can't help but envision various catastrophic consequences... that said, we already mess up the ecosystem, so maybe this sort of technology will be a good thing in the long run. But I doubt it. We simply do not understand climate nearly enough to start deliberately manipulating it.

That is the first sign that we are not going to act intelligently and are seeking ways to continue to abuse fossil fuel based energy resources.
We can't even adequately maintain and control environmental factors in our buildings. It is ridiculous to think we are any where near being able to control or manipulate our atmosphere in a way that is entirely beneficial or even effective.
