as with most issues, the more you simplify the problem, the easier it is to digest and deal with on a personal level. so instead of focusing on gender issues, you focus on women's issues at the exclusion of men because the problem is ~patriarchy~. some feminists have gone so far as to say that mens issues are really feminist issues because ~the patriarchy~ hurts men almost as much as it hurts women.

wrap your mind around that cognitive dissonance.

that's like saying that because juche hurts society as a whole, it hurts the ruling north korean families just as much.

if we're a patriarchy, that enforces female oppression in order to maintain male dominance, then patriarchy doesn't harm society as a whole. it harms women, and benefits men. a system run by men for men at the exclusion of women cannot be detrimental to males. it's literally the opposite of the definition.

You could compare it to how the capitalist class is affected by social alienation just as the worker class is.

Ostensibly they benefit from capitalist production but the result is a society that is less than it's potential.
