Well...that's understandable. The one that made me scratch my head was the logical inversion whereby they decided that they didn't get trashed at the polls because of being too bonkers...but because they weren't bonkers enough.
Its like sticking your hand in a boiling pot of water and jerking it back out saying, "Shit! That's hot!"
...and then coming to the conclusion that what you really should have done was just stick your hand directly onto the burner. That totally would have worked better.

Rather than come away from that loss thinking "We need to reboot," they came away saying "We weren't 'conservative' enough!" and hence have doubled down on the cray cray. Truly amazing.
But yeah, that's what they're doing and the only reason I can imagine that they are this delusional at this point is they live in an echo chamber, where they only listen to people/outlets who reaffirm this idea over and over again, rather than consider any contrary opinion for even a moment.
When that happens, they merely dismiss dissent as being "the left." And here we are.
