Because you are a natural person and a corporation is an artificial person, obviously. You are both still a "person" under the law though.

Like I said, every American jurisdiction makes the distinction between natural and artificial persons. Unless defined otherwise, everywhere in the US the legal definition of a person includes corporations. So yea, there are 52 separate definitions but they are all the same for the most part.
