My point is that if the players had committed murder you wouldn't see anybody standing by them save for their parents maybe and their attorney.
Not unlike Aaron Hernandez--the Pats didn't even hesitate to sever all ties (who knew he had killed more than once?).
But with this rape thing there was almost a mentality of either "Ya know, boys will be boys" or even worse "She had it coming because she was drunk."
Nowadays you hear about all these "mens' rights" bozos that are basically going around saying that most rapes are fabrications by college girls, etc.
So I guess that's one other angle: just deny that it's a problem, which is just as bad as covering up one.
