any who my meta point is that the Federals are so obsessed with busting black guys and red necks for various and in reality state offenses that they don't do their main job anymore.............keeping the states in line.

One thing I hadn't thought of with our Prison Nation is... the collateral damage that imprisoning people causes, particularly black males, especially if they're fathers.
This book I read said that kids of fathers are sent off to prison are 300-400% more likely to be juvenile delinquents which then usually turns into a life of crime. I saw a Frontline last year about how so many black teenagers are being thrown into jails too--girls.
And that dad we send off to prison? Of course he's now going to have his friends be actual criminals (what choice does he have) and once he gets out, his job prospects are pretty dim because now he's an ex-con.
Think of just the ripple effect that's having.
