I'm still struggling to know why you called me a racist when the only evidence you provided is that other white people you have met have been racist in your presence.

On a larger note, I'll agree with another poster that the biggest hurdle in Western society is multiculturalism. Does it work? Honestly, I have my doubts. On some level every ethnicity and culture wants to be primarily surrounded by people that are in those same groups. They may branch out on occasion and make friends and even long time partners in other groups, but the majority of their relationships will exist within their own cultural/ethnic circle. On a personal level, I think multiculturalism can work, but I think it has many problems when done at a societal level. Quite simply, ethnic groups enjoy a certain level of hegemony. I saw it in my 3 years in Korea, where 97% of the 50 million residents are Korean and inter-racial children are abandoned by their mothers.

As you've already pointed out yourself, racism is a belief that one race is superior or inferior to another.

If someone doesn't believe that, then they inarguably are not racist.

What I see happening is that not taking the zealous, standardized, socially expected, politically correct attitude about it...which mostly seems to amount to white guilt self-flagellation, is being equated to racism...which is bonkers.

You can avoid the extremes, and pay the respect due to all people, without even the slightest bit of "racism". Declining to defend double standards and lowered expectations is not "racism". Its a non-politically correct rejection of racism in the broadest possible sense...because different standards for different people on a racial basis is inherently racist being that it obviously implies different expectations along racial lines.

People can come to the same conclusions by different routes. Its not about rhetoric, or waving your arms and being as conspicuously "!!!not racist!!!" as you possibly can via the usual lip service and talking points, all while pointing accusing fingers at others. Its about whether or not you actually believe one race is better than any other, or that there should be race-based prejudicial treatment or discrimination.

Beyond that, calling someone a racist in the context of this thread is just another ad hom. Weak debate tactic. Calling someone a racist because they they oppose racism in a different way than you is even worse, as it damages someone on your own team, so to speak.

The fact you look at a non-racist attitude as "white guilt" says volumes about the underlying mentality involved in coming up with that conclusion.

I believe that YOU BELIEVE you aren't a racist. You don't realize what you are doing. You are just expressing the inherent racism that is an inherent part of our culture.
